Charles Kell is the author of Cage of Lit Glass, chosen by Kimiko Hahn for the 2018 Autumn House Press Poetry Prize. He is Assistant Professor of English at the Community College of Rhode Island and associate editor of The Ocean State Review. From working-class Ohio, Kell’s poetry engages themes of death, family strife, incarceration and drug use through a range of physical, emotional, and philosophical spaces. Kell’s work also asks and looks at what it means to create art in our present culture. Please join him for a reading, discussion, and Q & A from 7-8:30.
